Interpreting and translating - request a quote and costs

Certified translations are charged according to standard lines or as a lump sum. The price is based on various criteria such as degree of technicality, formatting and urgency. The preparation of the text is included. If desired, I can send the translation by post. In this case, postage costs will be added.

I charge for translations without certification individually per standard line or, in the case of certain types of text that are difficult to count, on a flat-rate basis. Before I make a concrete offer, I analyse your document with regard to text type, structure and subject area. If desired, I offer proofreading according to the four-eyes principle.

I charge by the hour for assignments in the area of justice and public authorities, for example at the registry office or at the notary's office. These costs cover one hour of on-site work. Arrival and departure or waiting times are also included. If the appointment takes place outside of Berlin, additional travel costs will be incurred. In the case of preparation-intensive assignments or bookings outside regular working hours, additional costs may arise.

Consecutive interpreting requires no technique, the speaker pauses after a few sentences so that what is said can be transferred into the other language by the interpreter.

Interpreters use a special note-taking technique for this.

At Simultaneous interpreting is transmitted almost simultaneously (with a few seconds delay) into the other language, special sound technology is needed for this.

Interpreting refers to the oral transfer from one language to another, translating to the written.

Simultaneous interpreting requires the highest concentration and costs a lot of energy. One person can do this for around 30 minutes, after which they should change each time, otherwise concentration would inevitably drop and with it the quality of the interpretation.
